Introduction

Thapar School of Liberal Arts and Sciences invites online applications for various BA, BSc and BBA Prorgrammes for Session 2022-23. TSLAS offers a total of 60 seats in BA/B.Sc./BBA in Liberal Arts and Sciences. Students can choose their major at the end of first year (second semester) of their study. Maximum number of students allowed in a major is 20 and the minimum number of students needed to offer a major is 5.

Eligibility

Admission to BA/BBA/BSc programs is subject to the fulfilment of the following eligibility criteria:

a) Academics

• The candidate has passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate of any three subjects (One of the subjects must be English).
• The school may consider applications from students with extraordinary achievements, including areas such as sports, music, dance, painting, social work, software development etc. with passing marks in their 10+2 examination,
  OR
  Any 3-year diploma after 10th or 10+2 is also considered.
• Candidates can also provisionally apply before Board Exam result, and if at any stage, it is found that you do not fulfill the minimum eligibility requirements, the admission if granted to you, shall be cancelled.

b) Age

No, there is no age limit for this course.

Method Of Selection And Shortlisting Of Students

Selection of all students, irrespective of reservation or quota, will be based on the following:

• • High School Marks weightage none. All students must meet minimum requirement of 60% and above total marks in High School diploma (10 +2). If available, SAT scores will be given due consideration; as will AP and IB scores.
  • Online Test weightage 25%

b) Personal Interview

A personal interview with the selection committee comprising of faculty members from Thapar School of Liberal Arts & Sciences and TIET will be conducted.

Counseling

Candidates have to submit their documents at the time of in-person counseling. Students must carry original documents with them along with photocopies for document verification. Candidates are also required to pay First year- INR 4 lakhs only. (A possible and a reasonable increase in the second and the third year). During the offline/in-person counseling, the fee will have to be deposited then. No admission will be given without the payment of full fee.
