Introduction

Panjab University Chandigarh invites online application for Punjab University Common Entrance Test Under Graduate PUCET-UG 2022. Panjab University has implemented Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS) in B.Sc. (Hons.) under the framework of Hons. School System (CBCS) Courses since 2016.

Eligibility

a) All those candidates who have passed/appeared in the 10+2 Examination of the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi or its equivalent Examination conducted by a recognized Board/University/Council shall be eligible to appear in the PU – CET (U.G.) Entrance Test – 2022. The admission of candidates to the PU – CET (U.G.) Entrance Test shall be provisional. It shall stand cancelled, if they fail to satisfy the requisite eligibility conditions as required by the Panjab University by the date fixed for the purpose. 

b) The candidates having compartment in 10+2 examination held in March-2022 will not be eligible for admission in the course. The candidates who do not appear in PU – CET (U.G.) Entrance Test or who do not qualify PU – CET (U.G.) Entrance Test shall not be considered for the admission.

• Recent Color Photograph with White Background
• Signature
• Class 10th Marksheet
• Class 12th Roll Number (If Appearing)
• Class 12th Marksheet (If Passed)

Sports Category

Each candidate applying for admission in this category shall, along with the Admission Form, will submit following documents to the concerned department and photocopy of one complete set of Admission Form, along with the all relevant documents after paging all the documents, will submit in the office of Campus  Sports, (Gymnasium Building), P.U. Chandigarh before the last date of submission of form. The candidate has to submit the form complete in all respect within stipulated date in the concerned department and in the Campus Sports Department.

a) Self-attested photocopies of sports certificates with photograph duly attested by the respective issuing authority (i.e. National Federation of Concerned game/ State Association/ Head of the Institution of last attended / self attested).

b) Self attested photocopies of Class 10th and Class 10+2 and Bachelor’s Detailed Marks Certificates.

c) Undertaking of the sports achievements (Annexure-I) and attendance in sports grounds (Annexure-II)

d) List of players of the team/ competitors of the concerned sports tournaments duly attested by the respective issuing authority / Head of the Institution of last attended/ downloaded from concerned official website

Examination

a) Examination Centre

b) Examination Pattern

The Test will be conducted in the subjects of (i) Physics, (ii) Chemistry (iii) Biology (iv) Mathematics. The scheme of the PU – CET (U.G.) Entrance Test is given below:

• For every wrong answer, 25% marks allotted to the question will be deducted.
• The syllabus of Entrance Test is as per the CBSE Syllabi for 10+1 and 10+2 for the session 2019-21.
• The medium of examination shall be ENGLISH only
• The candidates shall be required to answer questions on the OMR Answer-Sheet,
• 20 minutes extra will be given to the visually handicapped/ Person with Disability (PwD) for each paper

c) Result

a) The University will publish PU – CET (U.G.) result showing the list of “Qualified” and “Not Qualified” candidates for the following combinations of subjects:

• Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
• Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
• Mathematics only.

b) The cut off percentage is 15% of the total marks. Only in the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes / Backward Classes / PwD candidates, this requirement will be a minimum attainment of 10% (cut off) of total marks

c) Admissions to various courses shall be made on the basis of merit only.

d) All the PUCET UG 2022 qualified candidates must fill The Admission Form will be available on website after the declaration of Entrance Test result. Eligible candidates must fill admission form for counselling and admission. The choice of Course(s) / Department(s) are available in the Admission Form only.

Merit List

Merit List will be prepared as under:

For the B.Sc. (Hons.) under the framework of Hons. School System (CBCS) and B. Pharmacy admissions, the final merit will be prepared on the basis of merit consisting of three components

• CET merit with weightage 75 %
• 10+2 or its equivalent examination merit with weightage 25 %
• Over and above weightage of NCC, NSS, etc.
