Punjab Agricultural University PAU Ludhiana 2022 Application Details

ntroduction

Punjab Agriculture University Ludhiana invites online application for various undergraduate programmes.  The admission to all the programmes will be through the CET (Common Entrance Test). The admission to B.Sc. ( Hons) Agriculture 4-year at PAU College of Agriculture, Ballowal Saunkhri will the through BSET (Ballowal Saunkhri Entrance Test). 

Candidates residing in Punjab & Union Territory of Chandigarh are eligible for all undergraduate courses. In self supporting programmes 15% additional seats are to be filled from other states domicile candidates.

Eligibility

a) General Conditions

  • Only those candidates who are residents of Punjab or Union Territory of Chandigarh are eligible for seeking admission to all Undergraduate programmes and self supporting programmes.
  • In self supporting programme, 15% additional seats for the candidates of other states
  • The candidates who have appeared or are appearing in the qualifying examination can apply but they must produce original mark sheets of qualifying examination result at the time of counselling / document verification failing which their candidature will not be considered for counselling / seat allotment. Further, the admission will be subject to scrutinizing of original certificates at the time of counselling/document verification.

b) CET Based Courses

B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture (4 Years)

10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biology/ Agriculture/ Two year
Diploma in Agriculture with at least 50% marks in aggregate

B.Tech. (Biotechnology) (4 Years) (Self Supporting Programme)

10+2 or equivalent with Physics,  Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology/ Agriculture with at least
50% marks in aggregate

B.Tech. (Food Technology) (4 Years) (Self Supporting Programme)

10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biology/ Agriculture/ Certificate
course in Food Processing and Preservation from SLIET, Longowal with at least 50% marks in aggregate

B.Sc. (Hons) Horticulture (4 Years)

10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology/ Agriculture/Two year
Diploma in Agriculture with at least 50% marks in aggregate

B.Sc. (Hons) Agribusiness Management (4 Years) (Self Supporting Programme)

10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology/ Agriculture with at least 50% marks in aggregate.

Integrated M.Sc. (Hons) Programmes (Biochemistry / Botany / Chemistry / Microbiology / Physics / Zoology) (5 Years) (Self Supporting Programme)

10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology/ Agriculture with at least 50% marks in aggregate

B.Sc. (Hons) Community Science (4 Years) 

10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics / Biology / Agriculture/ Home Science with at least 50% marks in aggregate.

B.Sc. (Hons) Nutrition & Dietetics (4 Years) (Self Supporting Programme)

10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics / Biology / Agriculture/Home Science with at least 50% marks in aggregate.

 

c) BSET (For PAU College of Agriculture, Ballowal Saunkhri Campus) Based Course

B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture (4 Years)

10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/  Biology/ Agriculture/ Two year
Diploma in Agriculture with at least 50% marks in aggregate

 

d) Non-Exam Based Courses (10+2 Merit)

B.Tech. (Agril. Engg.) (4 Years)

10+2 (Non-medical) or  equivalent with at least 50% marks in aggregate.

Documents Required in Application Form

  • Recent passport size coloured Photograph (50 KB)
  • Signature (Black / Blue) (50 KB)

Students seeking admission in sports quota in undergraduate programme should report for sports trial at 9:00 A.M. in the office of Director Students’ Welfare one working day prior to date of counselling. The sports trial for all postgraduate programmes will be held on the day of counselling at 9:00 A.M. in the office of Director Student’s Welfare.

 

Examination

a) Admit Card

  • The admit card of the entrance test can be downloaded by clicking on the link “Click here to download your Roll No.”, on the PAU website by entering the Date of Birth and UID – for online applicants (UID will appear on the top of application form as well as on the Bank Challan Form downloaded and printed by the candidate) OR Date of Birth and Prospectus Number – for offline applicants.
  • Candidates should reach the venue mentioned in the Admit Card at 9.00 A.M. sharp on the day of Entrance Test. Candidates shall not be allowed to enter the Examination Centre without Admit Card and original identity proof.
  • All applicants must bring a photo ID proof i.e. Aadhaar ID or Driving Licence or PAN Card or Voter ID or Passport in original (not photocopy or scanned copy) along with the downloaded admit card on the examination day, otherwise he/she will not be allowed to appear in the entrance test.

 

b) Examination Pattern CET (Common Entrance Test)

The question paper will have three sections as under:

i) Compulsory sections (These two sections are compulsory for all candidates.)

Physics: 66 questions of one mark each

Chemistry: 66 questions of one mark each

ii) Section with option (Mathematics / Biology / Agriculture / Home Science)

68 questions of one mark each for Biology or Agriculture or Home Science or 34 questions of two marks each for Mathematics

Note:

  • The test shall comprise one paper of 3 Hours duration.
  • The medium of question paper will be English only
  • Candidate opting for PCH (Physics, Chemistry and Home Science) in the CET shall be eligible only for B.Sc. (Hons) Community Science or B.Sc. (Hons) Nutrition & Dietetics
  • The candidate can opt for any of these four options. The optional subject in which the
    candidate wants to appear must be mentioned at Sr, No. 6 of the application form.
  • Each correct answer will carry one mark whereas 1/4 mark will be deducted for every wrong
    answer. The weightage for correct and incorrect answer will be double in case of Mathematics subject.
  • Syllabus: The syllabi of Common Entrance Test (CET) will be the same as the syllabi of 10+2 of the Punjab School Education Board (both years i.e., +1 and +2).

 

c) Examination Pattern BSET (Ballowal Saunkhri Entrance Test)

The question paper will have three sections as under

i) Compulsory sections (These two sections are compulsory for all candidates.)

Physics: 66 questions of one mark each.

Chemistry: 66 questions of one mark each.

ii) Section with option (Mathematics / Biology / Agriculture)
68 questions of one mark each for Biology or Agriculture or 34 questions of two marks each for Mathematics

Note:

  • The candidate can opt for any of these three options. The optional subject in which the candidate wants to appear must be mentioned at Sr. No. 6 of the application form
  • Each correct answer will carry one mark whereas 1/4 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. The weightage for correct and incorrect answer will be double in case of Mathematics subject.
  • The medium of question paper will be English only
  • Syllabus: The syllabi of Entrance Test will be the same as the syllabi of 10+2 of the Punjab School Education Board (both years i.e., +1 and +2).

 

Result / Counselling

  • The result will be notified by the Registrar and will be displayed on the University website
  • A white application form shall be uploaded by university with the entrance test result on its website. The candidate should download this application form and fill it with his/her own hand and bring it at the time of counselling/interview along with all the documents in original as well as two sets of photocopies of the same as referred at Sr. No. 7 Page No. 11 under head Offline Mode
  • Candidates called for counselling should reach the venue on the scheduled date and time as per counselling schedule given in the prospectus
  • At the time of counselling/document verification the candidate is required to deposit the full FEE in cash immediately ON THE SPOT, failing which the seat will be offered to the next candidate on the merit list.
