Introduction

Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh invites online application for admission into BSc Nursing and BSc Nursing Post Basic Courses for academic session 2022-23.

Eligibility

Applicants must fulfill all the following eligibility conditions on the last day of submission of online application form:

i) BSc Nursing (4 Years) (Only for female Candidates)

a) Education : The minimum educational requirement shall be 10+2 examination passed with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English or any other examination as equivalent thereto with at least 50% marks in aggregate. Candidates appearing in 10+2 examination in April-May, 2022 can also apply for the course, but they will be issued admit card/roll  numbers only if they submit the certificates/marks sheet from the respective Boards of their having passed the 10+2 examination to the Principal, NINE 10 days before the commencement of the entrance examination.

b) Age Limit: Not more than 35 years and not less than 17 years on 31st December 2022 i.e. those born after 31st December, 2005 and before 31st December 1987 are not eligible. 

 

Documents Required

The candidates must upload following certificates/documents in application form

i) BSC Nursing

  • Passport size Color Photograph with Name and Date of Photograph
  • Signature
  • Left Hand Thumb Impression
  • Self Attested Photocopy of 10th certificate (Must have DOB and Marks)
  • Self Attested Photocopy of 12th certificate (12th Passed Only)
  • Category Certificate– SC/ST/OBC/PwDB (in case of reserved category)
  • Declaration by OBC Candidates Only (Page 29 of Prospectus)

b) PwDB Candidate

The candidates having disability of locomotor to the tune of 40% to 50% of lower extremity declared by authorized Medical Board of the State Govt. / Govt. of India or any other Competent Authority authorized in this regard by the Government having Nursing expert as a member of the Board only to be considered.

c) Correction in Application Form

In case candidate feels that he/she has filled up the form erroneously, he/she should fill up a fresh Online Application Form along with requisite fee before the closing date. Fee paid earlier shall not be adjusted against the fresh
Online Application Form.

In the case of submission of multiple Online Application Form by a candidate, the latest Application Form with the latest Application No. only will be considered by the Commission.

 

Application Fee

  • Rs 1200/- for SC/SC Category Candidates
  • Rs 1500/- for All Other Categories
  • Persons with Bench-mark Disabilities (PwBD): Candidates are exempted from payment of fee.

b) Examination Day

  • It will be mandatory for the candidates to wear face mask covering nose and mouth Candidates must carry 50 ml transparent bottle of hand sanitizers along with them. 
  • Social distancing must be maintained.
  • No electronic/metal item and ornaments inside the examination center will be allowed.
  • Shoes/footwear with thick soles and garments with large buttons will not be permitted

b) Merit List

  • Merit list of candidates is prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the online entrance examination
  • The selection will be made strictly in order of merit of the candidates in the respective merit lists of entrance test.
  • Overall rank of all the candidates shall be decided based on percentile scores, with a higher percentile score translating into a better rank.

c) Counselling

Candidates will be invited for physical counselling at PGIMER, Chandigarh strictly in order of merit in the respective merit lists based on the marks obtained by them in the entrance examination. The number of candidates to be called for the interview will be three times the total number of seats to be filled in each category from candidates who fulfill the cut off points.

d) Admission

Selected candidates should pay the fee etc. on the spot failing which her/his selection will be treated as cancelled and seat will be offered to the candidates next on the waiting list in order of merit.
