Eligibility for BTech

a) Nationality
Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply for LPUNEST (B.Tech.)

b) Qualifying Examination:
Applicants appearing for LPUNEST (B.Tech.) should have either completed or shall be appearing in 2022, in final examination of 10+2 from Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi) or The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE, New Delhi) or State Board or any other Council, Institution, college etc. declared recognised by Council of Boards of School Education (COBSE), New Delhi or any other concerned apex body as applicable.

c) Eligibility Criteria in the Qualifying Examination:
For B. Tech Programmes Pass with 60%* aggregate marks in 10+2 or equivalent (with Physics, Mathematics and English) subject to qualifying LPUNEST (B.Tech.)For B. Tech (Hons.) Programmes Pass with 70%* aggregate marks in 10+2 or equivalent (with Physics, Mathematics and English)# subject to qualifying LPUNEST (B.Tech.)

* 5% relaxation to North East states and Sikkim candidates/ Defence Personnel and their Dependents/ Wards of Kashmiri Migrants.

#For B.Tech. Biotechnology (BT), B.Tech. (Food Technology) and B.Tech. (Biomedical Engineering) .  
Subjects considered: Physics, Chemistry, English & either Maths or Biology or Biotechnology; other things remaining same as above.

# For B.Tech. Chemical Engineering (CHE)
Subjects considered: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English; other things remaining same as above.

Exam Pattern

The duration of the test is 150 minutes (2:30 hr.) and it consists of objective type multiple-choice questions (MCQs).

• Applicants can opt for either English, Physics, Chemistry, Aptitude, Maths or English, Physics, Chemistry, Aptitude, Biology
• There will be no negative marking for wrong answers or unanswered questions.

Result

LPUNEST will be conducted in multiple schedules. After the end of each schedule, the scores (subject wise as well as total) obtained by the candidates will be provided to them. The final result sheet containing the ranks of the candidates will be released. These scores will also determine the amount of scholarship one would be availing.

Note: – If there arises a case of ties in total scores between candidates, the comparison will be made between the subject wise scores obtained by them. Also, the age of the candidates will be taken into consideration to resolve the tie, where candidates who are elder will be ranked prior with regards to other candidates. Since it is an online Computer Based Test (CBT), there is no provision of revaluation of LPUNEST answers).

Counselling and Admission Process

After qualifying LPUNEST exam, the applicant needs to deposit the fee online mode or manually by visiting the university campus/ Camp Office. For admission, students need to follow these steps:

• Get your scorecard/ rank.
• Fill in the seat preference.
• The student can give a number of preferences that can vary in-stream and program. (depending upon the choice of discipline)
• The applicant will be allotted a particular programme in the first round of counselling, based upon the availability of seats and preferences filled by the applicant.
• Deposit initial fee of Rs. 10,000/- to confirm the seat. (Application fee: Rs. 500. Rest will be adjusted under the Programme Fee of the first semester).
• Complete the Admission form.
• Following documents are required to be submitted/ uploaded
  • Passport Size Photograph
  • Date of Birth proof (Matric certificate, PAN card, Aadhaar card), Eligibility Certificate: Graduation marksheet/ transcript serves as the eligibility certificate.
  • In case the eligibility certificate is not available at the time of filling this application form (recently appeared), it may be submitted later on also.
• All the submitted documents will be verified from the originals within the prescribed timelines.
• Deposit the balance fee within the timelines prescribed by the university
