CENTAC UT Puducherry MBBS 2021 Application Details

Online applications are invited from NEET UG Qualified candidates for admission to the first year MBBS/BDS/BAMS and B.V.Sc & A.H courses in Government and Self Financing Medical / Dental and Veterinary colleges in the UT of Puducherry. Applications are invited under Government / All India (Management) / NRI and Self –Supporting (SS) Quota.

Eligibility (M.B.B.S. & B.D.S.)

a) Domicile Requirement

For Management Quota seats in Private Colleges candidates are eligible on All India basis without any restriction regarding residence in the U.T. of Puducherry.

Note: For Minority Quota seats in Minority Medical / Dental Colleges candidates who are residents of the U.T. of Puducherry and belonging to respective minorities are only eligible,

 

b) Academic Requirements

Candidates seeking admission to the M.B.B.S./B.D.S.., Degree courses must have passed H.Sc (Academic)examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu or any other equivalent thereto, with a
minimum of 50% marks (40% of marks for OBC/BCM/MBC/EBC/BT/SC/ ST candidates) in aggregate, in the prescribed subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Bio-technology, Botany and Zoology. Further they should have studied English as one of the subjects and they must have passed the above four subjects individually.

 

c) Age

He/she has completed 17 years of age at the time of admission or will complete that age on or before 31 December of the year of his/her admission to the first year Undergraduate Medical Course.

The upper age limit for NEET (UG) is 25 years as on the date of examination with a relaxation of 5 years for the
candidates belonging to the SC/ST/OBC-NCL category and PwD Candidates.

 

d) Selection Procedure

Admission to the M.B.B.S., B.D.S., B.A.M.S. & B.V.Sc&AH courses is based on the NEET Rank for the current year of the candidates.

 

List of Documents Required

Candidates should ensure the following:

  • Candidate should have scanned images of his/her latest Photograph
  • Scanned Copy of Signature
  • NEET Score
  • Class 12th Marksheet
  • Class 10th Marksheet / Birth Certificate
  • Transfer / Migration Certificate
  • Community certificates issued by Govt. of Puducherry will only be considered for claiming reservation benefits
  • Self-attested photo copies of the following certificates have to be uploaded along with the filled-in online application
    • Mark Sheet(s) of the Qualifying Examination
    • Residence Certificate (For Govt. Quota Seats)
    • Certificate in support of the claim for reservation under different categories, viz., Community / Persons with Disability / Freedom Fighter / Ex-serviceman / Meritorious Sports Persons. (For Claiming Reservation benefit)
    • Rural Certificate (only Rural Government Colleges will be considered). (Applicable only for Undergraduate Arts, Science, Commerce Courses)
    • Regional Reservation Certificate (Applicable only for Professional Under Graduate and Diploma Courses).

 

Entry of New Preferences

  • After each Round the Candidates may be required to enter new preferences, if it is necessary. In case, seats / courses are added during the counselling process, the candidates will be allowed to choose the preferences relating to the added seats /  courses. Seat Matrix will be updated before the start of the next round and the candidates may have to refer to the Seat Matrix in order to fill the preferences. Videos may be seen for further guidance.
  • Once preferences are given, they are final. However, CENTAC reserves the right to permit all the students to alter the preferences for the subsequent rounds. If such a decision is taken, the students will be intimated.

  • CENTAC may also prescribe forfeiture fee (in case of MBBS, etc.) for participation in any round of Counselling. Where forfeiture (registration) fee is fixed, only those candidates who pay forfeiture fee, alone will be counseled. Forfeiture fee will be forfeited in case the candidate fails to join the allotted seat.
  • From Round II onwards once the candidate is allotted his preferred choice the earlier admitted seat will be forfeited automatically. Under no circumstances he/she will not be permitted to retain the earlier admitted seat.
  • During mop up counselling, seats will be allotted only after the entire tuition fee is paid, preferably by way of DD (Demand Draft) or through RTGS/NEFT. If the student fails to join the allotted college after mop up counselling, then an amount of Rs.1,00,000/- will be forfeited. In case, the college is not able to fill the seat from the 1:10 list sponsored by CENTAC, then the entire tuition fee will be forfeited.
  • The remaining amount, where the college is able to fill the seat, will be refunded after 6 months so that this acts as a deterrent for blocking of seat. Therefore, it is advised that the candidates make a considerate decision before taking the seat in mop up counselling. CENTAC reserves the right to modify these guidelines relating to mop up counselling, depending upon necessity.

 

Refund of Registration Fee / Tuition Fee

In case the candidate is not allotted any seat during the 2nd Round and Mop Up Round, the Registration Fees / Tuition Fees will be refunded to the same account of the candidate from which payment had been made.

 

OPTIONS FOR THE CANDIDATES AFTER THE ALLOTMENT OF SEATS

Once the candidate has been allotted a particular seat, he/she can opt for one of the following preferences:

  • The candidate can accept the allotment and refuse further rounds of allotment. In that case, this seat is not offered to other candidates.
  • The candidate can accept the allotment and can opt for next round of allotment (Up-gradation / Sliding). From Round II onwards once the candidate is allotted his preferred choice the earlier admitted seat will be forfeited automatically. Under no circumstances he/she will not be permitted to retain the earlier admitted seat.
  • The candidate can reject the allotted seat and participate in the next round of allotment. In that case the seat will be released and put up for the next round of counseling
  • The candidate can reject the allotment and opt out of the next rounds of counselling.
