CSIR CSIO Chandigarh Admission 2022 Application Details

Introduction

Online Applications are invited for the following Diploma Courses duly approved by AICTE, New
Delhi being conducted by Indo-Swiss Training Centre (ISTC) at CSIR-CSIO, Sector 30 Chandigarh.

The above courses consist of one year of common training followed by another two years of specialization in respective disciplines. Advanced diploma courses consist of further one year advanced training on specialized machines / equipments as per need of industry. The medium of instruction is English.

In the present incident of pandemic COVID-19 if the institute doesn’t conduct its ISTC Entrance Exam-2022, the admission to the ISTC diploma courses will be given on the basis of candidate’s percentage of matriculation examination or any other admission criteria decided by the competent authority.

Eligibility

a) Educational Qualification

Candidate must have passed the Matriculation or equivalent examination with Mathematics, Science and English as subjects from any recognized school / board. Those who have appeared in the Matriculation Examination are also eligible to apply.

b) Age

Those born on or after 1st August 2003 (1st August 2000 in case of SC/ST candidates) are eligible to apply for ISTC Admissions-2022.

  • Rs 1200/- General/OBC
  • Rs 600/- for SC/ST

Examination

a) Examination Centres

The exam shall be conducted at following Centres

Chandigarh, New Delhi, Patna, Nagpur and Chennai..

 

b) CSIO Chandigarh Entrance Exam Syllabus

The test will comprise of questions in Mathematics, Science, Aptitude, English and General Knowledge. Syllabus for the entrance test will be of CBSE 10th class standard or equivalent.

 

c) Examination Pattern

The ISTC entrance examination will consist of objective multiple choice questions. 25% of the
allotted marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

 

Admission

a) Selection Process

  • The final merit list will be prepared based on the performance/marks of ISTC entrance exam. Allocation of course will be on the basis of this merit list. In case numbers of seats in any course are filled, the next candidates will have the choice of only the course for which the seats are available.
  • The candidates in order of merit will be called for counselling. Candidate should visit regularly to ISTC or CSIR-CSIO websites for counselling updates. The candidates should satisfy themselves fully about the eligibility conditions of admission as given in Para 4 viz. Qualification, Age, Category, Physical fitness etc.

b)  Counseling

Candidates are required to report at the ISTC Auditorium on the date and timing mentioned in counselling schedule available on website along with the under mentioned documents for  counselling. If candidate do not present himself /herself at the time and date specified, the offer will deem to be cancelled and the seat shall be offered to the next candidate in the merit list.

No seprate invitation letter will be sent to attend the couselling for ISTC Admision-2022
If any candidate is suffering from CORONA or Quarantine due to CORONA during counselling date, he /she may inform the Institute well in time, so that necessary arrangement (Online counselling) may be made.

Admission will, however, be given only upon fulfilment of the following conditions:

  • You are required to present the print out of Online Submitted Application form & Admit Card of the ISTC Entrance Exam-2022
  • Verification of Qualification, Age, Category (OBC/SC/ST/EWS/PH/Kashmiri Migrants) and other information provided by you in your application form with original certificates.
  • Proof of residence and Identity proof.
  • Fulfilment of all the criteria and conditions for admission as laid down in admission notice and Information Brochure-2022
  • Migration Certificate/ Transfer Certificate/ School Leaving Certificate/Character Certificate / Gap Certificate (If any).
  • In case you are claiming a seat against any reserved category (OBC / SC / ST / EWS / PH / Kashmiri Migrants) you are required to produce necessary documents, in original, regarding belonging to this category, issued by a competent authority

OBC reservation will be available to non-creamy layer only. The criteria of creamy layer will be applied as may be prescribed by the Govt. of India. The income proof / certificate should pertain to the financial year 2021-22 and certificate for the same issued after 31.03.2022 only in the format given  in Information Brouchr-2022 will be considered

The candidates who are not covered under the scheme of reservation for SC/ST/OBC and whose family has gross annual income below Rs 8.00 Lakh (Rupees eight lakh only) are to be identified as EWS for benefit of reservation for EWS. The income shall also include income from all sources i.e. salary, agriculture, business, profession etc. for the financial year 2021-22. 

  • Medical Fitness Certificate on the prescribed form from a Medical Officer of the rank of Civil Surgeon
  • Two sets of attested photocopy of all the original documents as mentioned in (ii), (iii), (v) & (vi) above
  • An undertaking from the trainee and a declaration by the parent / guardian on the proforma about abiding by the Rules and Regulations of the Institute in force and as amended from time to time.
  • Download Information Sheet, Medical Examination Form, Undertaking by trainee, Declaration by the Parent/ Guardian from the websites and submit these documents dully filled at the time of counselling.
  • The list of candidates selected for admission will be displayed on the CSIO/ISTC websites after the counselling process is completed.

Candidate will be required to deposit the training fee and funds as specified in the “Information Sheet”, on the day of counselling, failing which the admission will be cancelled and the seat will be offered to the next eligible candidate in the list.
