Eligibility

The Applicant must be a Domicile of UT of J&K/UT of Ladakh as the case may be, however in respect of Candidates of UT of Ladakh, ST certificate issued by the Competent Authority of Ladakh shall be treated as Domicile Certificate.

 

Education

The Applicant must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized statutory Board with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and with at least 50% marks for Open Merit Category candidates including the Children of Defence Personnel, Children of Para Military Force, Children of J&K Police Personnel and candidates possessing outstanding proficiency in sports and 40% marks for candidates belonging to SC/ST and Other Socially and Educationally Backward classes.

The candidates appearing/who have appeared in the 12th Class examination (Annual Session 2021) can also apply and appear in the BOPEE test provisionally. However, they shall be required to produce the marks card of the said examination in support of having qualified the examination at the time of declaration of the result/counselling as may be notified by the Board.

 

Age

The Applicant must be at least 17 years old on 3l December 2021. There is no upper age bar for appearing in the Entrance Test for admission to Engineering Courses, both in Government and Private Colleges.

Keeping in view the prevailing circumstances and the lesser number of competing candidates to pursue the courses, the Board has decided that there will no written test and the tentative merit list of the candidates has been prepared taking into account their marks in the qualifying examination i.e. (10+2) class marks.. For the candidates having equal marks/percentage in the qualifying examinations, the tie has been decided to be resolved firstly on the basis of marks obtained by candidates in 12th class, followed by marks obtained in Mathematics, then in Physics and later on in Chemistry subjects and in case of further tie, if any, it has been resolved by taking D.O.B into account followed by first alphabet of candidate’s name mentioned in einformation Brochure.
