MATHEMATICAL STATISTICS

Mathematical Statistics is written by three well-known authors, namely- S.L. Aggarwal, Vinod Kumar and Mohamed Saleem. The book has been published under the eyeful publication of the reputed Kalyani Publishers. It has been written to serve as a textbook for BCA 1^st Semester students of Panjab University, Chandigarh, and also useful for B.Com. And BBA Students of various Indian Universities. The textbook has been designed with two objectives in mind:

a) to make students of computer science aware of the importance of statistical techniques in the solution of business problems; and

b) to give students sufficient grounding in the most commonly used statistical techniques so that they may use them effectively in decision-making.

The textbook departs from the heavy mathematical orientation generally experienced in the treatment of the subject matter. The average student who has adequate knowledge of arithmetic and high school algebra has the sufficient background required for the study of these techniques. It presents the techniques and their computational aspects within the real-world business environment. Each chapter explains the techniques using illustrative examples.
